Health and Safety, Saskatchewan Labour, the Heavy Construction
Safety Association of Saskatchewan and municipalities. There
is no job more important than protecting the safety of workers
on site,” said Rick, noting that they are COR certified and
have a safety committee that oversees projects for hazards and
best practices.
Industry connections
Another source of company strength is Nemanishen Contracting’s
membership in SHCA.
“I was an SHCA board member for five years and this was a great
opportunity to not only give back to the industry, but to discover the
issues and challenges facing the province’s heavy construction sector.
The association is a great way to make contacts. It’s also a positive
force in the province that can drive government change and
action. For others in the industry, I can’t stress enough how important
membership is and I invite people to step up and help SHCA
make a difference,” he said, adding that Saskatchewan’s heavy construction
sector is a tight-knit community. “Saskatchewan is a place
where people and businesses know each other. I like to think that
we have been successful because people know us and our reputation.
People don’t care how much you know until they know how
much you care. We are a family business with a strong core of workers
that are dedicated to getting the job done – and we plan to keep
doing just that.”
